General Information

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before you start to use the Website, which includes accessing the Website’s Forum. By using this Website you indicate that you accept these Terms of Use and that you agree to abide by them, as well as all applicable laws and regulations. These Terms of Use are subject to change at anytime and you should check back regularly to ensure that the modified terms are acceptable to you.

The Meat Collective Alliance (MCA) is a nonprofit corporation, founded in 2014, whose mission is to spread meat education programs of breadth and depth in order to foster sustainable, equitable, responsible meat production and consumption across the country. Throughout the Website, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to MCA.

If you accept or agree to these Terms of Use on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that company or other legal entity to these Terms of Use and, in such event, “you” and “your” will refer and apply to that company or other legal entity.

The failure of MCA to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Use shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

5. MCA Website & Forum Conduct

MCA is dedicated to building and maintaining a useful and vibrant community of individuals and organizations that share the MCA’s mission. To this end, the MCA may make available to users of the Website email notices, newsletters, forums, message boards, bulletin board services, or other interactive communication facilities (such facilities and services will be collectively referred to as the Forum.) Please be courteous and contribute positively when using the Website and/or Forum. MCA cannot review all communications made on or through the Website and Forum. However, MCA reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor the Website and Forum and in its sole discretion, to edit, modify or delete any materials which MCA determines to violate the Terms of Use or to be in any other way offensive and/or contrary to any law or MCA policy.

A. Communications

You are solely responsible for the content of any transmissions you make to or from the Website and/or Forum, including to any discussions therein. You shall not upload to, or distribute to, or otherwise publish through the Website or Forum any communication that:

(i) is for inappropriate commercial purposes or otherwise advertises or solicits for the sale of inappropriate goods or services; (ii) is obscene, indecent, pornographic, profane, sexually explicit, or abusive; (iii) constitutes or contains false or misleading indications of origin or statements of fact; (iv) slanders, libels, defames, disparages, or otherwise violates the legal rights of any third party; (v) causes injury of any kind to any person or entity; (vi) infringes or violates the intellectual property rights, contract rights, or any other rights of any third party; (vii) violates any applicable laws, rules, or regulations or (viii) contains software viruses or any other malicious code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

Furthermore, you acknowledge that conduct prohibited in connection with the Website and Forum includes, but is not limited to, impersonation of other people and breaching or attempting to breach the security of the Website.

MCA does not endorse and is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of statements made by Forum users.

B. Public Communications

You acknowledge and agree that any public communications made to or by means of any portion of the Website are public. You acknowledge that:

(i) you have no expectation of privacy in any public communication and (ii) no confidential, fiduciary, contractually implied or other relationship is created between you and MCA by reason of your transmitting a public communication to any area of the Website or Forum. By transmitting any public communication to the Website or Forum, you grant to MCA a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, unrestricted, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, license, distribute, display, reproduce, transmit, modify, edit, and otherwise exploit such public communication, in all media now known or later developed. The foregoing grant shall include the right to exploit any proprietary rights in such public communications, including, without limitation, any intellectual property laws under any relevant jurisdiction, and shall constitute a waiver of any rights, "moral rights," or any similar rights under any jurisdiction.

C. Unsolicited Email

You agree not to use the Forum or any other area of the Website to send the same or substantially similar unsolicited electronic mail messages, whether commercial or not, to a large number of recipients. This prohibition includes sending unsolicited mass mailings from another Internet service that in any way involves the use of the Website. A message is unsolicited if it is posted in violation of a USENET or newsgroup charter and/or if it is sent to a recipient who has not requested or invited the message. For purposes of this provision, merely making one's e-mail address accessible to the public shall not constitute a request or invitation to receive messages.

D. Trolling/Repeat Trolls

The term troll is a slang term used to describe a number of things, and traditionally it refers to a person who posts items intended to incite controversy or conflict. An individual posting honestly held but controversial opinions is welcome in the Forum. However, trolls are not. A troll’s primary incentive is the incitement of conflict. Trolls often resort to verbal abuse, making inflammatory remarks maligning the motivation of other members. Those members that behave in this manner will be banned immediately and without notice, and in the MCA’s sole discretion. Banned trolls that return to the Forum will be banned again upon identification of their new account. Those who repeatedly return to troll will have their IP address blocked.

E. Forum Registration

In order to participate in the Forum, you need to register. This process includes selecting a username and password. These are for your individual use only. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any password you use to access the Forum, and agree that MCA will have no obligations with regard to your password.

6. E-Book

It is a resource for those looking for more detailed information about building a Meat Collective. In order to purchase the book, you can click on this link and you will be re-directed to a site where you can purchase the book. Purchasers and users of the e-book agree to the following Terms:
